Our Principles: Building a More Secure and Transparent Web3

The promise of Web3 is one of decentralization, transparency, and user empowerment. However, this potential can only be realized if the industry is built on a foundation of trust, security, and integrity. At VIX Labs, we are committed to navigating the complexities of this emerging landscape with a clear ethical compass. Our principles are not just guidelines; they are the core of our operations, defining who we partner with, what we build, and how we contribute to the ecosystem.

1. A Commitment to Radical Transparency

Trust begins with accountability. In an industry where anonymity can be misused, we choose to build in the open and demand the same from our partners.

We Exclusively Partner with Identified Teams:

We have a strict policy of working only with publicly identified (“doxxed”) founders, teams, and organizations. We believe that accountability is essential for building long-term, sustainable projects and protecting users. We do not engage with anonymous or pseudonymous teams.

Clear and Honest Communication:

We are committed to providing clear, factual information about our projects and their objectives. We believe in fostering an environment of open dialogue, where findings from security assessments and project progress are communicated transparently to the relevant communities.

2. Security as a Non-Negotiable Foundation

In the Web3 ecosystem, robust security is the most critical component of user safety. We treat it as a fundamental prerequisite for any project we undertake or support.

Advocacy for Open-Source Code:

We are strong proponents of open-source initiatives. We believe that making code publicly available for review and scrutiny by the broader developer community is one of the most effective ways to identify vulnerabilities and build resilient, secure applications.

Prioritizing Audited and Secure Contracts:

Our development process is centered on creating secure, rigorously tested, and audited smart contracts. We provide open-source tools and resources, such as dApp starter-kits, to help other teams adopt these best practices and fast-track the development of safe applications.

Independent Security Analysis:

Beyond our own development, we apply our expertise to improve ecosystem safety. We conduct independent security assessments for established projects, using sophisticated on-chain analysis and wallet tracing to identify and report on exploits, contributing to a safer environment for all participants.

3. A Focus on Real-World Utility and Purpose

We believe the long-term value of Web3 lies in its ability to solve tangible problems and create positive impact, not in short-term speculation.

Utility Over Speculation:

Our work is focused on innovations that improve consumer safety, provide better information and risk assessment tools, and offer clear, real-world utility. We do not launch or partner with speculative token launches.

Building Public Goods:

We dedicate resources to building our own internal products that serve the community. A prime example is conn3ct.app, a free-to-use tool designed to bring provable fairness to online giveaways and verify users for community events, all without an associated token or cryptocurrency.

Supporting Social and Environmental Good:

We seek out partnerships with trusted teams who are using technology as a force for positive change. Our work with GeoChange, a platform dedicated to art, conservation, and charitable fundraising, reflects our commitment to supporting projects with a clear and beneficial mission.
